About us

The story of Nabulsi Shaheen begins in 1928 when the soap was first established by the Shaheen’s family, renowned for its premium quality and its use of 100% pure olive oil. However, when King Farouk ascended the throne in 1936, the soap was rebranded as Nabulsi Farouk in honor of the king. This decision aligned with the admiration many industries had for King Farouk during the early years of his reign, associating his name with products to reflect progress and prestige. The soap, produced in Nablus, Palestine a region famous for its high-quality olive oil became a staple exported across the Middle East and Europe.

However, after the 1952 coup d’état and the overthrow of King Farouk, the soap factories decided to disassociate from the monarchy and return to its original name. In a widely publicized statement, they announced: “At 6 PM on July 26, Farouk’s name was erased from Egypt’s history forever. In solidarity with the people’s revolution, Nabulsi Farouk has been renamed Nabulsi Shaheen, proudly representing 100% pure olive oil and Egyptian patriotism.” This return to its roots marked a new chapter for the soap, solidifying its place in Egyptian homes as a trusted, high-quality product.

In 1981, Kheidr El Sayed acquired the Nabulsi Shaheen brand from its original owner, Mohamed Shaheen. Since then, it has been proudly owned and managed by Kheidr and his sons. Over the decades, Nabulsi Shaheen has become an iconic name with deep roots in the Egyptian market and a legacy spanning nearly a century. Originating as a natural olive oil soap, the brand earned its reputation for exceptional quality, authenticity, and cultural significance. Nabulsi Shaheen became a household name in Egypt and among Gulf (Khaliji) students and families living or studying there, especially in cities like Cairo and Alexandria. Its products were strategically distributed through local markets, grocery stores, and pharmacies across both urban and rural areas, making them accessible to families from all socio-economic backgrounds.
